Book review 5

The Martian by Andrew Wiers is a story about a man that is stuck on Mars alone, and he has to figure out how to survive until he can be rescued. This is a good mix between science fiction and comedy.

The Martian was a great realistic science fiction book that mixed suspense and comedy (a surprisingly good mix). I really loved this book and would recommend it for kids above 6th grade and a good scientific base to understand and appreciate this book.

Next Year (slice # 6)

Next year I'm going to be going to East High School (yay!!) This means I will have to take tests (not drugs) and be in a public high school. I will also be doing speech and debate, soccer, and XC. I really don't think this will have a huge influence on my life. I will still play soccer with my club team, and still have school work. What will change is that I will have to start thinking about college and the rest of my life. Overall, I am very excited and ready to start a new school. And remember to comment, subscribe, and drink more hot chocolate.

Acrady's Goal (book review 5)

Arcady's Goal by Eugene Yelchin is about a young boy in a Soviet youth prison for the children of enemies of the people. Because he is very good at soccer, he ends up leaving. He then has to deal with being considered an enemy of the people.

I liked this book. It was very interesting to read because it was written by one of Arcady's relatives. The writing style was a bit young, but overall, this was a very good book and I would recommend it for kids around 5th to 8th grade. Remember to comment, subscribe, and drink more hot chocolate.

My Favorite Food (slice #5)

Some of you may be wondering, "Adrian, what's your favorite food?" (Actually no-one is wondering that but I'm going to tell about it anyways.) My favorite cuisine is Korean (JK will like this). This is because the food is somewhat of a mix between Chinese and barbecue. My favorite Korean dish is the sides. At most Korean restaurants, you are served unlimited sides and get to order more of the ones you like. My favorite side is fishcake. This is a sponge-like food that is very tasty. Thank you for reading! Comment, subscribe, and drink more hot chocolate.

Lies,Knives, and Girls in Red Dresses

Lies,Knives, and Girls in Red Dresses by Ron Koertge is a poem book about fairy tales that have been revisited and modified to fit a modern scene (so more murder and drugs).

This book was fine in terms of writing. It did not have much of an impact on me or change my views. It did have some of the best illustrations I have ever seen. These are  cut from pieces of black paper and floated above a white background. This made the book good and well worth looking through multiple times. Overall, I would recommend this book if you don't want to read much, but spend time looking at each page.Thank you for reading! Comment, subscribe, and drink more hot chocolate.
